Quick, Cute, Costumes

Quick, Cute, Costumes

Halloween is pretty much here! If you're like me you've waited until today to try and find a costume for tomorrow. This can be kind of stress inducing especially since we're in the idle of midterms. Plus Halloween costumes are expensive!! I don't know about you but I'm a stereotypical broke college student. I can't afford to spend $40, $50, or $60+ dollars on a costume for one day.

My college also has a rule that you have to be recognizable at all times, which means no masks. This can be problematic because masks are the easiest and cheapest thing to do on Halloween! Working around that condition, and staying under a $25 budget, I've put together some fun costume ideas (for groups and singles).

Individual

Construction worker

If you're a runner your already halfway there with this costume. All you need is a reflective vest, some light wash jeans, and a white t-shirt.

Cosmo & Wanda

Cosmo and Wanda Costume.jpg

This costume is super simple and can be made almost entirely out of things you already have! One person wears a white button up shirt, and a black tie (if you don't have one ask a friend to borrow one), the other a yellow t-shirt, and both of you wear black leggings, pants, or shorts. For the wand and crown you can get gold or yellow construction paper and make them! And you can pick up a fun colored wig at CVS, Target or Walmart, or even by temporary hair dye spray if you want to go all out!

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy

These costumes may look complicated but they can actually be made pretty easily!

Barnacle Boy- Red shirt, black shorts, blue bandana, blue tights and a white hat. If you don't already own, or know someone who owns, the bandana and tights they can be purchased at Target or Wal-Mart for under $10.

Mermaid Man- orange shirt, black shorts, purple bra, purple face paint, green tights, slippers and his yellow belt. (the belt can be made from construction paper and ribbon) If you want to buy the bra, tights, face paint and slippers it will cost you about $25 at Wal-Mart

The Incredibles

So step one of this costume is to get a group together willing to wear black underwear over their pants.  Then you just have to wear red shirts with red leg gins or spandex and a construction paper "i". If you can't wear a mask, like me, then use heavy black eyeshadow!

I hope this helps you guys this week!

Comment with what you're being for Halloween and I may just add it to this post!

xoxo
